Frozen White Russian

Have I mentioned that it is hotter than hell here in Arizona?!?  We’ve had heat advisories and nine straight days of the temperature above 112 during the day.  It was supposedly the hottest August on record for Phoenix!   Gulp.   We are certainly having a sizzling time here in the big A.Z.!   When the weather is this hot, a glass of wine or fruity little cocktail is not going to cut it.  Arizonians need something icy and refreshing.  Maybe a White Russian?  A White Russian on the rocks is okay, but a Frozen White Russian made with with freezing cold ice cream is 100% times better…don’t you think?

Frozen White Russian

  • Coffee Ice Cream
  • 3 Jiggers of Vanilla-flavored Vodka
  • 2 Jiggers of Kahlua or other coffee liquor
  • 1/4 c. Half and Half
  • Whipped cream and ground cinnamon to garnish

*One jigger is 1.5 ounces

Place 3-4 scoops of coffee ice cream in a blender.

Add the vodka, coffee liquor, and half and half.

Blend until completely whipped.  Pour the luscious cold liquid into a large cocktail glass, and garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon.    You can rim your glass with the cinnamon for an extra nice touch, but make sure you dip your toes in the pool while sipping.
