The Ultimate Road Trip

Ultimate Road Trip2

What is your idea of the ultimate road trip? For me, the ultimate road trip can be a three-hour day trip up to the Grand Canyon or an epic 10-day trip up the California and Oregon coast, like my family took last year. There is so much to see and do here in the United States and I want to see and do it all!

Ultimate Roadtrip4

Last weekend, my bestie and I took a road trip from Phoenix to Albuquerque for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.  Our trip to Albuquerque was uneventful, but our ride home took about three hours longer than expected because we had trouble finding a decent gas station (with clean restroom). We also encountered terrible traffic between Flagstaff and Phoenix, and on top of it all, my tire pressure light kept coming on.

Things like this are bound to happen on a road trip, and as a driver, I have to be ready for anything, but it certainly would be nice to have a tool that monitors my car, keeps my family safe, can help with road conditions and finding gas stations, and has a phone app to assist with everything.

Guess what?  I do!  For my next road trip, I have a new tool that is easy to use, is available wherever I go, whenever I am driving, and ties into my existing Verizon wireless phone plan.  This secret weapon?  Hum by Verizon!

Hum By Verizon

You may have heard of Hum by Verizon as an automobile app for your phone, but it is so more than that, it is connected technology to manage your automobile and allow you to drive smarter.  Huh?  Let me explain.  Hub has three separate products, depending on your driving needs, and all three will make your life easier.

Hum App:  This is a free app you can download to your phone.  The app gives you a personal safety score on your driving habits (based on your average speed for the road conditions), provides road trip routing ideas and navigation (powered by mapquest), and discounts on Verizon network local and national travel services. | Free

Hum By Verizon1Hum +:  Hum+ is a automobile diagnostic tool you plug into your car, that when connected to the Hum app, gives you vehicle diagnostics, 24/7 crash response assistance, roadside assistance, and more.  It will even gives maintenance reminders and monitors vehicle health (change oil, get tires rotated, etc), a mechanics hotline to pinpoint weird car noises etc, drivers history, 4G LTE service, and stolen vehicle assistance.  |  $29.99 for the hardware tool + $10 monthly service subscription*.

Hum by Verizon2Hum X:  Hum X has all the features of the Hum app and Hum+, as well as a Wi Fi hotspot that supports up to 10 devices, a bluetooth speaker to connect with live help, and number share capability.  | $69.99 for the hardware (diagnostics tool and bluetooth speaker) + $15 a month service subscription*.

Hum: The Ultimate Road Trip Tool

Let’s think about this for a moment.  Hum service is a tool that can tell drivers if something is wrong with their car, remind us when we need to get an oil change, help if we need to find a gas station while driving, and keep WIFI for my family while driving?   One device that will help my car run better, make driving more convenient, and help me to save time and money while driving?

And Hum is also the tool that will tell me how my son (who is a relatively new driver, and recently started to road trip on his own with a new car) is driving, including his speed and driving history?  And send alerts for emergency crash and stolen vehicle detection, encouraging my family to have safer driving habits and provide life help when they need it most?

Wow, talk about the ultimate road trip tip!

When I spoke to the people at Verizon to learn more about Hum, I also learned that Hum has…

  • Pinpoint accuracy for roadside assistance and speed measurement. The app is as real-time as you can get, so drivers get updates with location and speed approximately every 90 seconds or quicker.
  • More features than most of the “other” live support security and safety systems.
  • Verizon sends a monthly statement showing driving habits and fuel usage.
  • If there is a mechanical issue with your car, the Hum app will send a code and provide a network of mechanics to help decipher the code and find solutions.
  • The live help is available 24/7 to assist with anything you need while driving.

I can’t imagine a more perfect driving tool for families, not just for road trips but for everyday driving.  Bottom line? Hum takes care of your car and the people in it.  ♥  Want to find out more?  Check out this video!
